Our Story

Breathing gives life, life gives opportunity, and opportunity gives power to accomplish goals.

When we are facing fears, in preparation to conquer, or attempting to regain our strength, we breathe because it gives us courage, hope, and confidence.

Officially founded in 2017, Breathe Youth Empowerment Organization believes that if we are breathing, we have an opportunity to be all and do all in the name of positivity, strength, and success.

We hope that one day all youth will have the proper resources and support to achieve excellence with a boldness to conquer the world.

Through each program, connection to resources, and event, Breathe Youth Empowerment’s intent is to empower young men and women to believe in themselves, in their future, and in their purpose.

Jade Wright, a Greenville, South Carolina, native, is a passionate youth development, early care and education professional. From a young age, Jade has always held a passion to advocate for youth through her own dreams and desires for support and empowerment.

Jade is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a minor in Education. She earned her graduate certificate in nonprofit management. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a Master of Science in Youth Development Leadership. She has earned various certificates across the youth development and early care and education fields, such as the Pyramid Model for Supporting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children, South Carolina Infant Mental Health, Capturing Kids' Hearts, Conscious Discipline, Adverse Childhood Experiences, H.O.P.E. (Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences), and much more.

As she continued her education, volunteered in different communities, and worked with various organizations, Jade realized that a space was needed to serve as a vessel to encourage and inspire hope to the hopeless in communities that are often overlooked, forgotten, and neglected. She started to develop the basis of Breathe Youth with the goal of empowering young people who may not believe that they have the ability to achieve success with limited resources. In 2017, Breathe Youth was officially founded.

Jade has worked and volunteered with an array of organizations and schools focused on providing support and enrichment to youth. Currently, she is working in early care and education while also supporting the implementation of programs and events for Breathe Youth Empowerment.
